Guy Craic'y: Get Lazy For Fall!

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
Hey guys! With fall approaching we cant just let the ladies have all the fun. Step up and out in fashionably fall forward clothing. I stumbled upon Lazy Oaf today on my search for a certain necklace and was pleasantly surprised when I found their fun graphic tee shirts and sweaters. I love their use of color and print. Each piece is a stand out and can be worn a variety of ways. The buttons down have a fun mixture of colors that can be easily paired with a simple pair of khaki's for needed punch. The tees can easily be paired with your favorite pair of high tops (love) or converse. I love the color and fun add ons on their outerwear. As men we don't get too many options for some stand out pieces like woman. I urge you all to visit their site at Lazy Oaf or you can purchase their merchandise on my favorite site ASOS If you are a little timid think of celebs like Ryan Gosling, Justin Bieber or James Franco, Pharrell or Frank Ocean for inspiration.

Craic'y Trend Report: Mix n Match

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
So I have been watching Ugly Betty again, trying to figure out how to become Marc St. James and it has totally inspired me. If you are a fan of the show you know that she is notorious for mix prints, colors and has an all across the board wild style. With that said, it wasn't all bad. If you took away a couple of things..it would make for a really chic ensemble. So if you want to stand out and have a unique style to call your own, try mixing prints and patterns. The key is to keep the colors within those prints in the same family. Look at the above looks for inspiration and if those aren't enough look to your favorite celebs like Olivia Palermo, Kelly Osbourne, Diane Kruger and Rihanna for tips.

Craic'y Trend Report: Terrific Trenches

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
As the summer sun fades you can start to pack up your shorts and break out those cool autumn fashions. Nothing screams autumn like a fabulous lightweight trench draped across your body. It is chic and classic and definitely a New York staple..just look at any housewife. With that said, that doesn't mean you have to look uptight. Choose trenches to suit your own personal style. There are so many options this season ranging from cropped to fun prints and textures.  Look to your favorite celebs for inspiration like Leighton Meester, Gwenyth Paltrow and Victoria Beckham. What do you think ladies? Will you be reaching for a terrific trench this season? X

Craic'y Trend Report: Sultry Sequins

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
Okay so obviously sequins are huge, it is an easy go to when you want to feel sexy and turn some heads. With that said, sequins can go from good to bad very easily. Just look at any Real Housewife. There is no need to over do it. Let your dress talk for you. By piling on accessories you detract from the dress and look cheesy. Look to style mavens like Jennifer Aniston and Blake Lively for tips. Keep it simple and sexy ladies! Enjoy! X

Craic Crush: Nicholas Kirkwood Pumps

Like most shoe lovers I have been a fan of Nicholas Kirkwood and his innovative designs for quite some time now. He never stops creating beautiful footwear that pushes the envelope and looks significantly different from most other designers. While I am not a fan of a chunky heel (please don't bring back the 90's) this one just works. It could be because of his pairing with fame designer Erdem that these shoes really work. The soft, abstract, murky beautiful print paired with the black and clear acetate heel makes for a stunning masterpiece. The pump contains a 4.5 inch heel with a 1 inch concealed platform. Get your own pair at Net-A-Porter for $1,395.00. I hope to see celeb fans like Sarah Jessica Parker, Britney Spears, Kelly Rowland and Miranda Kerr rocking them on the carpet! What do you think of Nicholas Kirkwood and Erdem's creation?

Guy Craic'y: Say It In A Tee

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
If you are like me you like to stand out. I'm not really a plain tee kind of guy...if I am rocking a plain tee you can bet that my accessory game is sick and making up for it. Now one of my favorite things since I was a teen are just corny, stupid tee shirts with sometimes witty sayings on them. Not only does it show that you have a mild sense of humour and you don't take yourself too seriously it also is a conversation starter and hell who doesn't like that! Here are a few of my favorites that I stumbled upon today. Don't be shy guys, celebs like Zac Efron and Justin Bieber do it all the time and we all know how much the girls and gays love them! You can buy your favorite at Nordstrom from $28-$38

An Open Letter to Christina Aguilera..

Aguilera's promo pic for her new album

Dear Christina Aguilera,
Do you remember when you were on top of the charts? Do you remember when you were buzzed about for your big beautiful voice? Me either. It seems like these days you cant catch a break girl. Your albums have become consumed with concepts as opposed to amazing material...I mean you gave me 50 songs (highly unnecessary) from the roaring 20's then about 12 crappy ones from the "future" While you copy so many of the current chart toppers...why don't you do this..copy putting out an amazing album like them. You don't need gimmicks. What you do need is a stylist girl...a good one. I don't know what trusty gay you have surrounded yourself with that tells you "bitch you are flawless" and to "just have a kiki" but honey they gots to go! Lets see the girl behind the clown. Clean up your hair and makeup regimen, introduce some color into that wardrobe, gravitate to daring and more interesting silhouettes and drop that single already. With that said, I have enclosed four looks for you. I hope you will take them into consideration. I am rooting for you girl! I hope that your Max Martin single is a smash hit. I really do. I will dance to it all night! Pinky promise. Just before this oh so important time in your career...look at your girl Britney Spears..who once again is doing it better (way better) then you. XO
Forever your girl,
Scotty

Jessica & Kate Are Beautiful in Berlin

Now this is how its done ladies! Elegant, sophisticated, glamorous, modern and sexy all wrapped into two delicious packages. Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale rocked the red carpet in Berlin yesterday for their film Total Recall. Biel chose a sleek sequined Elie Saab gown with a Fendi clutch, while Beckinsale opted for a lovely long sleeved white Naeem Khan  dress ( Sorry Countess Luann, I guess she beat you to it) with Christian Louboutin shoes. Both ladies looked divine in their own right. I declare a tie! What do you think?

There are an abundance of fun colors and cuts out there waiting for you to try. Try pairing your skirt with feminine touches like lace, structured blazers and pops of colors. Christina Aguilera is Purple Imperfect

Demi Lovato called and she wants her hair back. Christina Aguilera appeared at the NBC press junket for The Voice in Los Angeles rocking her new purple hue do. At 31, the purple locks make the singer look tired and behind the times. Not to mention but is that a legging? Ugh. With over ten years in the business you would think that she would have it figured out by now. Aguilera needs to be on point more then ever. With a new album upon us and a new single (produced by major hit maker Max Martin) dropping later this month, it's time the singer tones down her loud style and keeps the focus on her loud voice. No one needs another Bionic flop. What do you think of Xtina's purple tresses?

Craic'y Trend Report: Shoulder Sexy

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK

Covering up has never looked so good. Sometimes it what you dont show can garner you the most attention. A sultry slouched shoulder can be sexier then cleavage or legs combine. When getting ready think about covering up and choosing pieces that will stand out in a crowd. Look to your favorite celebs like Hedi Klum, Beyonce and Katy Perry for inspiration!

Craic'y Trend Report: Peter Pan Pretty

Don't go calling Wendy and Tinkerbell, it isn't that kind of Peter Pan. Peter Pan collars are everywhere from the runways to your favorite celebrities like Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale and Victoria Beckham. The soft draped collar adds a feminine flair to any look. Perfect for a night out on the town or for a first date. What do you think? Craic'y hot or craic'y not?

Craic'y Trend Report: Sensible Stripes

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK

Everyone knows that 2012 is the year of sensivble stripes! If you dont then you are way behind...in any case many people are scared of stripes in fear that they will look bigger but on the contrary stripes can actually make you look a lot slimmer. When used correctly they can actually hide imperfections; acting like an optical illusion. Have fun with stripes by pulling key colors from the pattern into the rest of your enesmble; even mixing patterns like the first example. What do you think?

Craic'y Trend Report: Boys Club

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK

Menswear has been a trend for quite some time now but it is definitely we are definitely seeing it a lot more on your favorite celebs like Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart. Now while I love this trend, sometimes it can get a little too manly for my taste..so here are my suggestions. Don't forget that you are still a woman and you want to keep that feminine air while looking tough. Choose structured items like blazers, pants and skirts then pair them with chic accessories and sky high heels. What do you think of this boyish trend? Craic'y good or craic'y bad? X

Calling all NYC gays!! Summer is upon us and that means one thing...the return of Summer Camp! There are very few things I need in life; tan, vodka, tank tops and hot guys. Thankfully Summer Camp at Sky Room has all of the above. Hosted by friends Shawn Paul Mazur and Marti Gould Cummings; every Sunday from 3pm -10pm you can enjoy some of the best music from DJ Martial 33 floors high. Now, how do you stand out amongst NYC's hottest gays? Well thats simple..say it in a tee. Message tees are everywhere this season and why not say what you are really thinking or say what you want that hot muscle stud accross the room to hear, without saying a word.

It's NYC why not show a little skin? So for those of you who want to show a little more then just arms...here is a tip on how to make the perfect tank out of those old tee shirts. Start about 5 inches from the bottom of your shirt and cut in a circular diagnol direction towards the color to perfect the perfect "skank tank" Thank you Marti Gould Cummings (who is also on hand at Summer Camp on Sunday's) for coining the phrase.

Can't wait to see you there! For more on Summer Camp at Sky Room check out the Facebook invite or check out Next Magazine's coverage of the grand opening this past Sunday!

Eva Longoria: Lean at Letterman

Eva Longoria looks stunning at the taping for David Letterman where she is promoting the series finale of  Desperate Housewives. In a slinky Victoria Beckham cut out neck dress with contrasting back straps and zipper detail, the star certainly brings the va voom to the mean streets of NYC.  Don't even get me started on those shoes! Victoria Beckham should be sending her more dresses and a muffin basket as we speak with the press that she will get from this. Although, I am sure she doesn't need it, I am sure the $2,250.00 dress is flying off the shelves as I type. What do you think of Eva's late night look?

Craic'y Trend Report: Always A Bridesmaid..

CLICK THE PICS FOR A CLOSER LOOK

With so many of my friends getting engaged lately...I thought what better time to put together a little bridesmaids piece. Not only is it one of my favorite movies, its also a hot topic for every wedding party. What will the bride make us wear?! Well brides listen up! Yes it is your day but don't you want your friends to look great too? They are a reflection of you after all. With that said, try to go for cuts that will flatter every body type. Chiffon is a great fabric to use for this, not only does it move beautifully when walking down the aisle, it can hide a lot of imperfections. Try to glam it up when putting your ladies together. Think of the first Sex and the City movie and how gorgeous Charlotte, Miranda ( I know even Miranda) and Samantha looked in their contrasting colored gowns. Tis the season! What do you think ladies?

Craic'y Trend Report: Feather Frenzy

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
I absolutely love feathers...after a seeing one of Oscar De La Renta's gowns as young boy at The Museum of Natural History not only have i been infatuated with design..I also developed a feather fetish! The way they move on the body is just so eloquent and soft. It's almost magical. If you have been paying attention you may have noticed that in addition to a dark lip, feathers were all over the Met Ball on Monday night. While Beyonce got it totally wrong, Kate Bosworth got it so right in a custom Prada cocktail dress made of navy and bordeaux feathers. So before you go out there trying to replicate this emerging trend take a look at the four looks above to see how to do it right. Stick to neutral colors and clean lines so you don't look like a wild animal. What do you think...will you be rocking feathers this season?

Flirty cuts and colors keep you looking young and fresh. Will you be buttoning up anytime soon?

Craic Carpet Recap: 2012 Met Ball!

Fashions biggest night hit New York City yesterday and the city was all a buzz! The 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art brought out the who's who of Hollywood...but I have to say as opposed to years past..the fashion kind of dull. While star appeal wasn't a problem, it's like every ones stylists were asleep at the wheel. A lot of the ladies looked pretty..but also looked pretty safe. However GCB's Leslie Bibb looked stunning and easily stole the show in a midnight blue Zac Posen ball gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Also on the best dressed was every ones favorite bombshell Sofia Vergara in a gorgeous and delicate Marchesa dress, Casadei crystal pumps and Harry Winston jewels. It was sexy, understated and just the right amount of high fashion without making a mockery of the night. Now...on to what you really want; the worst dressed! The usual stunning Beyonce disappointed in an awful see through lace and feather dress from Givenchy Haute Couture. I get it, she is trying to show off her post baby body (you know because she gained all that weight carrying her own child and everything...................) but this was not the way to do it. On top of it a dress like that needs a little drama, the understated hear, minimal makeup and lack of jewels made absolutely no sense. From over the top to Little House My Husband is Sleeping With the Nanny we have Sarah Jessica Parker. Now I love my SJP but I don't know what is going on with her lately! The usual chic starlet is dressing as frumpy as ever. In a Valentiono dress, Manilo Blahnik shoes and some tacky Fred Leighton jewels the star got it all wrong!  Check out some of the other celebs in attendance like Leighton Meester, Gwenyth Paltrow, Ginnifer Goodwin, Amber Heard, Chloe Sevigny, Diane Argon, Scarlett Johansson, Cristina Ricci, Rihanna, Elizabeth Banks and Kristen Stewart. What did you think of this years Met Ball? Leave your comments below!

CHERYL COLE IN "CALL MY NAME"

I was so inspired by Cheryl Cole's new video for "Call My Name" for her new album "A Million Lights out June 18th! The song, produced by the famous Calvin Harris, will have the dance floors full all Summer long. This will definitely be the song that will make her a US sensation...watch your back Rihanna! The sultry video has Cheryl strutting down the streets in nothing but a printed Altuzarra Finch blazer, leopard hot pants and multi colored neon Brian Atwood pumps that will take your breath away. Keeping the neon trend going, we then see her in a neon bikini top and neon animal print harem pants while she busts out some major choreography! Now while many of you wont be going out in hot pants or perhaps showing all that skin, I have got you covered. Check out four ways you can get the look without baring all. Make sure you are mixing colors and prints but never going overboard. The trick is to pull a couple of colors from the print but not all of them!
