We are asking for help to get our beloved friend back on her feet. Charlotte has touched so many lives and taken care of so many people it is time that we give back.

Donations are being collected for her and can be sent to:

Any donations or contributions that can be made are greatly appreciated. So many of you have reached out and helped but there is so much more that we can do. You don't realize how much you have until something like this happens to someone you love. To read more about the horrible fire head over to Why Leave Astoria. If you have any questions please email us at craicstyle@yahoo.com. Again we are greatful for anything anyone can do. Thank you!

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
I love color and have been finding so many amazing pieces in blue that I decided it was time devote an entire piece to it. These darker blues are vibrant and sexy and look good on almost every skin tone. Not to mention, I am going to give myself a big pat on the back as these four pieces compliment every shape and size. Enjoy these vibrant colors all year long and stand out from the crowd. Everyone is buzzing that the blue dress is the little black dress this season! X

Craic Crush: Charlotte Olympia Suede Sandal!

Hold on I am having hear palpitations. I love love these Charlotte Olympia Dalva suede sandals from Net-A-Porter! The 5.5" stiletto sits on a 1.5" platform and is perfect for all season and coming in at $895 the price is reasonable considering you will have them forever. Wear them with a sexy jumpsuit or slinky dress and you are ready to go. The gold platform really sells the shoe. Celebs like Olivia Palermo, Kate Hudson and Emma Watson are already fans of the designers sky high creations and I am sure this shoe will be spotted all over H'wood as well!

Jessica Simpson Designs Her Wedding Dress

Despite what you think about Jessica Simpson the girl is kind of unstoppable. While her music career might have hit a road block she is wildly successful. Her clothing and accessory empire has grossed over one billion dollars...that's right...one billion. In 2010 it raked in 750 million alone and making her 100 million and a spot as the first celebrity clothing line to gross over a billion. With a wedding on it's way it is no surprise that the star is confident enough to take a stab at designing what she will wear on the big day. She says she will be "very involved" in the design process of her dress when she weds Eric Johnson. With rumors swirling that she will join the American version of the X Factor as a judge could she be poise for a comeback a la Jennifer Lopez? Looks like 2011 could be her year! !

On a side note can I just say that Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera judging on these talent shows makes me feel old! Don't you agree?

Craic'y Deal Of The Week: Ruffled Romper

I am loving this cool, casual yet sophisticated romper from Express. At $69.90 it is great value as it will be a staple in your wardrobe for the next few months. You can pair it with cute flats and a chic hobo bag for day and a metallic clutch and sky high heels for night time. I have to say, that the romper looks even cuter in person. Especially the purple; it works so well with the navy bottom.  Ladies..don't forget if you sign up to for their emails you can automatically get 15% if you already don't have a coupon. There is almost always one out there! Happy Shopping! X

Emma Stone is a Gorgeous Glamour Covergirl

Emma Stone looks amazing for May's issue of Glamour magazine which she shares the covers with actresses Freida Pinto and Ashley Greene. If you ask me though Emma takes the cake. Wearing designers like D&G, Versace, Helmut Lang, Victor + Rolf, Alexander Wang, Erdem and Tory Burch; The Amazing Spiderman actress looks playful and pretty. Isn't she giving some major Sharon Stone vibes in the white Versace dress?? I love it! Inside the mag she gives advice, talks about the pressure to be thin in Hollywood and what is next for the 22 year old. Visit Glamour  for more and look for the issue to hit newstands early April! Here are some shots of Freida and Ashley below

Britney Spears Is A Busy Babe!

Britney Spears was one busy girl this weekend. Britney Spears popped up at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas where she performed three songs of her Femme Fatale album which hits shelves tomorrow March 29th. She followed it up with a taped performance for Good Morning America that will air tomorrow morning. The singer performed "Hold It Against Me" (which you can watch below) "Till The World Ends" and "Big Fat Bass" While the singer is still a little slow in her steps, she definitely looks like she is having fun and happy to be back. Just look at that smile! She picks up the pace by the bridge and delivers a great finale. It is great to have her back on the scene..I mean Gaga who?? Cannot wait to get my copy tomorrow which includes my favorite song "I Wanna Go" and "Drop Dead Beautiful" (which you can also listen to below) Order your copy today!!

Perfect way to end the week and start a fabulous weekend! I love these Jimmy Choo  Vivienne embellished leather and snakeskin sandals. Craic'y Trend Report: Short Shorts!

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK
Okay so it's not exactly a trend but Summer is coming so it's time to look for some hot options. The best thing to do when wearing shorts is to not look like Britney Spears. Which means no Uggs and no message tees. Think chic and hot. Throw on a sexy (not slutty) top and a blazer or cute cardigan. Pair with sky high heels and you're set. Remember when in your daisy dukes keep the cleavage to a bare minimum. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free. Okay honey! X

Rachel Zoe Gives Birth to Fashions First Baby

Rachel Zoe has given birth to what can only be described as fashions first baby. The stylist to the stars gave birth to Skyler Morrison who weighed 6lbs. 12oz. I cannot wait to see what they dress him up in. Zoe told Elle magazine earlier this year that she didn't care if it was a boy or a girl that it was definitely getting dragged to fashion shows! How adorbs! Congrats to the happy couple!

Craic'y Color Warp!!

CLICK THE PIC FOR A CLOSER LOOK

By now you know that I love color, I am not afraid of it I embrace it like all women should! I feel so many people pick a color and then go safe with their accessories. Go bold or go home, I say! Check out these four looks and just look at how great the colors work together. Purples, greens, oranges, reds, blues, pinks mash them up like Glee. The trick is to choose mix colors but keep it simple. Choose two or three that work off each other and then go from there. Find bags or shoes that can relate back to your ensemble or even enhance it. I myself am guilty a lot of times of keeping it simple and not taking risks but as women you guys have so many more options then us men! Use them to your advantage and if you ever need a shopping partner, you know where to find me! X

Craic Crush: Camilla Skovgaard Sandals

LOVE! Check out these amazing Camilla Skovsgaard Cutout Leather Platform Sandals available at Net-A-Porter The tough and edgy ivory sandals stand tall at 5" with a 1" heel, while they might be pricey at $545 they actually save you money. They work two big trends at once; the cut out trend (Craic'y Trend: Cutout Cute) and the pin thin heel. So when you think about it these shoes are really a steal. Not to mention you can look like your favorite celebs like Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry and Kelly Rowland who have all been seen sporting the killer spikes. They almost resemble an athletic shoe...hmm perfect for the red carpet or rock climbing! I love multi purposing! X

Hilary Duff is a Charitable Cutie!

Yet another reason to love Hilary Duff. The star has been helping the charity Blessings in a Backpack all week, hopping from Chicago to Atlanta. "The Blessings in a Backpack Program is simple. A passionate parent, teacher, nurse, counselor, community advocate or corporate supporter elects to start the Blessings in a Backpack program in a local school. Blessings in a Backpack works with you to gain support with your school and district leadership. Once a school is adopted, Blessings in a Backpack will help find a nearby grocer to partner with, as well as provide the program framework for implementation. The next step is to fundraise to support the number of children your program will feed. You will also need to gather volunteers to manage the weekly logistics of getting the food from the grocer to the school or facility where the backpacks will be loaded with food for distribution. Blessings in a Backpack donates all program backpacks raised through national partnerships and funding. We also connect adopters across the country so they can share ideas and successes and so that you can learn how to run your new program. 100% of all monies raised for a new or existing school program go directly to food purchased for the backpacks." This was taken from the Blessings in A Backpack webiste where you can find out more about the orginization and even donate! On a lighter note this was one of the first times we got to see Duff sporting her new bangs which look amazing on her! Duff as always looks casual, effortless, polished, chic and sexy all at the same time. You too can get the look here! I took a few creative liberties and added some extra jewelery, jacket and bag with a signature Hilary Duff pop of color!

Vanessa Hudgens is Polished in Purple!

Vanessa Hudgens finally gets it right at the premiere of her movie Sucker Punch in L.A. last night in a cream and purple sequined printed Jenny Packham dress the star was on point. I love that back! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the 22 year old actress. You can see her next in Journey 2: Mysterious Island starring Dwayne Johnson (yum) and Kristen Davis which is slated for a September release.

Jamie Chung is a Draped Darling

Jamie Chung steals the show in a stunning yellow draped Giambattista Valli mousseline dress at the premiere of her movie Sucker Punch last night in L.A. Not even giving other co stars like Vanessa Hudgens and Jenna Malone a shot at taking best dressed, all eyes were on Chung. You might recognize her from smaller roles in movies like Sorority Row and Grownups. You will definitely start seeing a lot more of her as she is slated to star in the blockbuster The Hangover II and Premium Rush, also starring Joseph Gordon Levitt. It is great to see a Real World alum make it in the real world instead of doing more reality shows or getting arrested. Mazel! Check out the teaser for the trailer for The Hangover II which comes out Memorial Day below!

Kate Winslet's Polka Dot Disaster

Kate Winslet attends the premiere of her HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce...and the usually stunning star has a bit of a misstep. First off, her Stella McCartney dress is not cute and is a little bit snug on her. And it must have been a full moon last night because the fuzz on her face was certainly noticeable. A little quick wax would have been great love. All will be forgiven though seeing as she is usually so chic and on her game. Her next film is the star studded action thriller Contagion starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law which hits theatres in October. For now watch the Mildred Pierce trailer below. Better next time love!

Evan Rachel Wood is Plum Pretty!

Evan Rachel Wood looks all kinds of fabulous at the premiere of Mildred Pierce. Dressed in head to to Elie Saab. The True Blood star keeps it in the family with this HBO drama also starring Kate Winslet. In the mini series Wood plays Winslet's daughter. The drama premieres March 27th. It has been a while since we have seen Evan look so sleek, poised and polished. Loving this look!

Craic Crush: Roksanda Ilincic Dress

Breathtaking! I am dying over this Roksanda Ilincic Firestone silk-organza and basket weave dress. The grey/watermelon colored dress is folded and draped in the most interesting and beautiful way. The pretty silk organza will set you back a pretty penny coming in at $2,755.00 available at Net-A-Porter You will look simply stunning like your favorite celeb fans Elizabeth Moss, Corrine Bailey and Emily Blunt. Craic On the Streets: Jaclynn Brennan

I love New York, especially the nightlife you never know who or what you will see. Out at Quo on Friday night with some friends I ran into the very stylish Jaclynn Brennan. She is the first in my new street segment. It's not just celebrities or designers that inspire me its the everyday man and women that I see that give me ideas and get me excited. So i was thrilled when I met Jaclynn who had a great eye for color, with a great blend of textures and patterns. As she should, she is a runway stylist and buyer. Hopefully this gives all you readers some ideas and inspiration. You can follow her blog at Jaclynn Brennan. Stay tuned to see what I will bring you next week! X

Craic'y Spotlight: Christopher Downey

Aaaahhhh New York City. You never know who is just around the corner or who you will meet next. That is exactly what happened to me last month at Vig 27's Nextwork party. As the crowd dwindled and I became hopeless that I wouldn't meet anyone in my field Christopher Downey popped right up. Christopher Downey is a great guy with an amazing talent as you can see in his above and below work. Check out the great interview I did with him and then make sure you call him up at Prive salon and book an appointment for your next event!

What do you do ?
I am an assistant manager at Prive Salon in Soho and run my own business-Christopher Downey Make-up Artistry
What drew you to the fashion industry ?
A friend talked me into make-up although I had no prior experience, but having an art background, it was second nature to me.

What is the hardest part about working or breaking in to this business?
The hardest thing is just trying to get my name out there because there are so many people in the same occupation.

What are some of the things that you wish you could change about the industry?
The fact that if you are a make-up artist doesn't necessarily mean you are good. Does that sound bitchy?

What has been your greatest professional moment?
Realizing that I LOVE what I do.

Your worst professional moment?
When people I work with don't have the same artistic vision as I do.

What are some of your biggest influences?
Anyone who has an artistic voice. I am influenced by everyday people. As far as make-up artists, Kevyn Aucoin and Francois Nars. But if it came to celebrities, I would have to say Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Lady Gaga. I guess I love powerful women!

What designers do you love and why?
I love Jean-Paul Gualtier, Dolce& Gabbana, and Alexander McQueen, because they all have an eye for the dramatic. (AND my boyfriend Jason Vincent, because he has the potential to become a great designer, he definitely has a vision)

What celeb style do you admire the most?
Well, I am a huge Madonna fan, but Nicole Kidman always looks great too!least?Too many too list!LOL!

Do you have any professional regrets?
Absolutely, no regrets. Every choice I have made has brought me where I am today. I have learned a lot.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Being a sought after make-up artist!
What is your personal style?
I love to keep up with current trends but give it my own little twist. style motto? Be daring, be creative, and if you love it..own it! It's ALL about confidence.

What trends do you see for spring 2011?
In make-up there are a lot of neon colors, especially eyeliners.

Going into spring and summer what are some of the things women should be doing to take care of their skin?
PLEASE use a sunscreen.

What is the one product you can recommend to readers as a must have?
A moisturizer catered to your own skin type.

Explain how you begin the makeup process on a client.
I ask them what their comfort zone is with make-up, some clients want to look great but not hidden behind make-up.

Exclusive Makeup tips?
just be daring, try new things, and a great concealer always helps.
The one beauty trend you wish would just go away already?
I love a smokey eye, but 9 out of 10 clients always wants a smokey eye! Try something new girls!

Advice for others trying to break into the fashion biz
Believe in yourself and NEVER give up. You might have a lot of doors close in your face, but there will eventually be the one door that opens and then your career takes off!

Christopher Downey can be found on Facebook-Christopher Downey Make-up Artistry and can be contacted at christopherdnyc@gmail.com or at Prive Salon Soho #212-274-8888 for make-up application
